Featuring shadow puppetry, hidden spaces and the East River, Piehole’s MYSTERIOUS MURDER is a short site-specific meditation on disappeared persons, unhelpful evidence and the fickle public imagination. Drawing from the grisly “mysterious murder” that gripped Brooklyn in the mid-1800s, MYSTERIOUS MURDER delves into the psychic habits that allow us to grow accustomed to blood, death, and horror as history moves on.
Followed by a screening of GORY LESLIE, an animated short by Piehole member Emily Friend Roberts, and the premiere of PAPER PLANE, a music-theater adventure play devised by 3 Sticks.
