PIEHOLE is all over the Philly Fringe. Check out these two shows: S.H.A.V.E.D. a solo show by piehole’s Tara Ahmadinejad directed by Willow Norton Through the eyes of her endearingly paranoid alter-ego, Nargice, Tara shows how everyday objects can assume dangerous double meanings. Nargice’s family has fallen under the suspicion of her community. Unable to reconcile the threat and appeal of surveillance, she confronts the FBI behind the bathroom mirror, and even tries to befriend them. Fri August 29 at 9:30 PM / Sat August 30 at 6 PM & 9:30 PM PAGEANT : SOLOVEEV 607 Bainbridge St www.pageantsoloveev.com TOD & I an original puppet show by Piehole One of only two shows in the Fringe that are categorized as puppetry, this mood-driven and atmospheric piece tells the story of a boy’s first encounter with death. Through sound, video, text, rod and shadow puppets, we create a storybook world in which children’s games have hidden meanings. Consider this rave review in the Village Voice of our recent performance at The Brick Theater in Brooklyn.
